While on Oahu in Waikiki Beach, we want to rent scooters, where is the best sight to ride to for a half day?
We only have a half day, and would rather not spend this particular day going to diamond head. Is there any other sights that are close enough to scooter to? Also, this is not a romantic trip...just friends looking to see some neat sights!

How about Hanauma Bay? (8 mi. outside of Waikiki) You could make the trip there and back from Waikiki and have plenty time for some awesome snorkeling up there. (the equipment can be rented right on the beach)

Not sure if you know where you're going to rent the scooters, but the proprietors have dozens of suggestions for "scooter tours" based upon the amount of time you have to work with and your comfort level and experience with riding. They will also provide you with self-guided tour maps, usually included in the price of the rental, as is the helmet and liability insurance.

Don't forget--- You will all need to hold a valid driver's license in order to take a rental. That might seem ridiculous to mention, but many people don't realize it's mandatory in order to rent and/or operate a scooter/moped in Hawaii.
