scooter won't idle??

My scooter is a Yamaha Majesty 125 four stroke but the scooter won't idle. I have tried adjusting the idle screw but the bike still won't idle you have to keep the throttle open when stopped to keep it running. My dealer a few months ago mentioned this to me and he said that it has low compression and something to do with the valves needing work costing 300 euro. The scooter is running fine no black smoke or bogging etc. What does he mean when the valves need work is he going to replace them or just check the valve clearance. Would the valves need to be replaced if the scooter is running fine. Apart from the idle issue.

best answer is take it to another garage mate get them to diagnose the problem and give you a written quote to repair bike you know where you stand that way and don't tell them you have taken it else where they may know each other
