I have a baotain BT 49 Scooter - it will not start or trun over, whats the problem?

I had a full tank of petrol but now it is nearly on red, has this flooded in to the engine? Will it just be an electrical fault?

Remove the spark plug and check if the engine will turn over. At the same time check for spark by connecting the wire to the plug and grounding the plug to the engine. You should see a blue-white spark while the engine is turning over.

If you have spark, and the the cylinder is now clear. Put the plug back in and try to start it again.

If the engine will not turn over with the electric starter, while the plug is out, you could have a dead battery, or an electrical fault.

The battery in my electric scooter ran down and now it can barely hold a charge How can I get the battery back?

I want the battery back to fully charged so I can ride around more. How can I recharge its life back.

Check your battery water level usually under a plastic cover on top of the battery. if its low fill it with water till it's to the bottom of the inspection hole tube. Then throw a charge to it overnight and it should hold it's charge better. when the water level is full you can also do a battery acid test which will tell you if the battery itself will hold a charge. tester should cost no more than $5-10.and a good battery usually acid level is between .0175 and .025
